X Dock
An experimental place for your Mac.
Run at your own risk. Expect no support.
An experimental Dock with a reflective shelf, magnifying icons, a draggable resize divider, and Downloads stacks. It hides in full screen and appears when you move the pointer to the bottom edge.
Download X DockTested only on macOS 27. macOS 15 and 26 are untested and offered on a best-effort basis. Some features may not work.
Make yourself at home.
- Open the disk image and drag X Dock to Applications.
- Launch X Dock, then open Settings from its menu bar icon.
- To use both Docks, enable Compatibility mode in X Dock Settings. Configure the system Dock yourself; Right with automatic hiding is suggested.
- Enable Window Controls and grant Accessibility access to keep ordinary windows above the Dock.
- Choose Downloads when asked to remember folder access.
Use Check for Updates… in the X Dock menu for new versions. X Dock also checks automatically; you choose when to install.
The system Dock returns when X Dock quits. This preview includes live app icons, notification badges, and draggable files in Downloads. It does not recreate Genie animations or live window thumbnails.
