Overview
Better Battery is a menu bar utility. Its battery display, settings, alerts, and battery information operate on your Mac.
Information the app accesses
- Battery and power information. Better Battery reads the battery level, charging state, time estimate, and available battery health details reported by macOS.
- App preferences. Display choices, alert thresholds, and launch behavior are stored locally on your Mac.
- Notification permission. If you enable battery alerts, macOS manages permission and delivers those notifications on your device.
Information Better Battery does not collect
Better Battery does not send personal information, battery readings, preferences, or notification activity to a developer-operated server. It has no account system and includes no analytics, advertising, tracking, crash-reporting service, or data broker.
Network requests
The Mac App Store version does not make network requests as part of the app’s features. The direct-download version contacts its update feed to check for new versions; it does not attach battery data or personal information to that request.
Retention and deletion
Preferences remain on your Mac. Removing Better Battery and its data removes the information stored by the app.
Changes to this policy
If Better Battery’s data practices change, this page will be updated before or when the relevant app update is released.
